I

n order to better understand the geologic formations penetrated by a drilled hole, a Well Log which consists of the detailed record of the penetrated geologic formations is required. Logging is performed by lowering a specialized tool with sensors attached to the end of a wireline into an oil well from which a record of the petrophysical properties is obtained. The petrophysical data are analyzed and plotted as a function of well bore depth. The output of these analyses is an important variable in estimating hydrocarbon in-place and booking reserves. In most cases, a combination of Logs such as Gamma ray, Neutron-Density and Resistivity is used.
