ABSTRACT

In this paper we present experiments of oil-water flow and a simplified turbulent diffusion model which predicts phase fractions in the cross section of the pipe. We find that the model can describe the observed cross sectional phase fractions fairly well when the mixture velocity is relatively low umix1≤m/s. It is found that for higher mixture velocities the phase fraction has a more radial distribution that is not captured by the model.
