Abstract

Generally, the vessels & offshore floating structures have the helicleck structure in order to helicopter landing as well as take-off phases. The helideck structure should be satisfied the safety requirements in accordance with some offshore regulations and rule notations.

The aim of this study is to evaluate the buckling/ultimate strength of the developed pancake under helicopter landing impact. The evaluations with regard to the structural safety and stability of the developed aluminum pancake are carried out by BS EN 19999-1-1:2007 to comply with the design requirement. For verification with respect to evaluation by EUROCODE 9, the 3-dimensional finite element analysis is performed with FEA program.
