Abstract
In this study a new type seawall was proposed for reducing reflected waves and also was intended to have an additional function of wave energy extractions through the use of pumping mode of wave motions. The new type sea wall has two water chambers separated by a L-shaped plate. Performance of the sea wall has been examined from both the experimental and theoretical points of view. The ability of the sea dike of this structure is suitable to reduce reflected waves not only for short waves, but also for long-fetched waves, such as swells. A rational design method for an effective cross section of the seawall also has been examined.
