Abstract

The effect of pipe inclination, solid concentration and mixture velocity on the mixture flow behavior, pressure drops, and concentration distribution of coarse-grained particle-water mixtures was experimentally investigated on an experimental pipe loop with horizontal, vertical, and inclined pipe sections of inner diameter D = 100 mm. Two fractions of washed graded basalt pebbles, of mean diameter d50 = 12.1 and 6.3 mm were used as solid particles.
