Abstract
The aim of this study is to provide additional understanding of the evolution of local stress-strain state near crack-tip in a surface cracked pipe subjected to combined loading and its correlation with the near tip fields developed in small scale test specimens. This will help determine the range of applicability in predicting initiation and propagation of initial cracks.
