Abstract

As the engineering background of the shallow-buried coal seam under thin base rock in western coal mine, using two dimension discrete element numerical analysis software UDEC, the exploitation process of working face was simulated, the rule, which including roof movement has some abruptness and interconnectivity, surface subsidence exhibits fault zone as zigzag n surface, was summarized and analyzed, and was found to be in agreement with the reality. On this basis, some secondary disaster and loss were effectively avoided by adoption of a series of technical measures, some foundation was provided for seam mining under the similar condition.

1 Introduction

In recent years, Along with the coal resources consumption in East mining area, western coal resources began to be taken attention by people gradually. Some coal enterprise also began to build coal mine in the west, especially in the XinJiang region. Compared with the eastern mining area of deep part mining, the two typical characteristics of the western mining area are shallow buried depth and thin bedrock[1–2]. This makes migration of roof and surface subsidence rule has a certain particularity, lead to the original roof control theory and experience cannot be well used in the shallow thin bedrock buried depth of coal seam mining[3–5]. So, In this paper, as the engineering background of the shallow-buried coal seam under thin base rock in western coal mine, using numerical simulation method, directly reflect the shallow strata movement and surface subsidence after mining of the shallow-buried coal seam under thin base rock, some guidance was provided for solving the security problem about mining of the shallow-buried coal seam under thin base rock in western coal mine.

2 Working—Face Situation

This western coal mines located in the central and southern of the Dongsheng coalfield. The formation structure was monoclinic, dip angles are lower than 5 degrees. The 2 # coal seam structure is relatively simple, seam thickness is 4.6~10.6 m. The 222203working face which was the research object In this paper, is in 2–2 coal seam. Ground level is 1466.0~1537.0 m, working face level is 1383.6~1402.3 m, the average depth is 85 m. The average thickness of surface loose layer is 30m, the average thickness of is 35 m. The thickness of the coal seam is about 6m.
