Estimating petrophysical properties from seismic attributes is the foundation for reservoir characterization. Rockphysics modeling can provide relations between elastic and petrophysical variables. But most rock-physics inverse problems are multidimensional and nonlinear. In this abstract, we propose a rock-physics inversion method based on first-order difference regularization to improve the stability. For analysis, the petrophysical relationships based on the Xu-White framework is established. Then, we introduce a first-order difference regularization constraints into the objective function. The experiment on well-logs data indicates that the proposed method weakens the noise amplification effect in the petrophysical inversion system, and enhances the stability of the inversion results.
