The fractured-basement reservoir pose great challenges to seismic exploration as they are associated with complex fault and fracture networks, strong heterogeneity, and distinguished seismic impedance contrasts between the basement rocks and the surrounding sediments. A walkaway vertical seismic profile (VSP) survey was acquired at a fractured-basement play located in Bohai Bay Basin, northeast China, to provide higher-resolution image and to better delineate the highly faulted dipping basement. Two techniques applied to the data are discussed in this study
