Ambient seismic vibrations are largely used for seismological studies. These ambient vibrations consist of different seismic wave types, mainly surface waves. Their properties (Love and Rayleigh wave dispersion curves, Rayleigh wave ellipticity curve) can be obtained by analyzing appropriate measurements and inverted in order to obtained the shear-wave velocity profile of the underground structure. Applications of these techniques for a site in Switzerland and the InSight landing site on Mars will be presented.
