Sixty experiments have been conducted to study the effects of magnetic fields on calcium sulfate scale (also known as gypsum scale). For this purpose, three magnetic systems were designed using NdFeB (Neodymium Iron Boron) magnets of different geometry arranged in open and closed magnetic circuits. The statistical analysis of the data obtained indicates the potential effectiveness of this technology to prevent and treat scale formation problems.
