This paper presents a new model for analysis of changing wellbore storage during pressure transient testing. The model accounts for the combination of instantaneous change of wellbore storage with wellbore phase redistribution effects. Both wellbore effects are incorporated mathematically into a new solution of diffusivity equation. Type curves for various combinations of related parameters are generated to develop an insight into pressure transient behavior. The practical utility of the new model is demonstrated through application to the actual field data.
