Argentina’s Vaca Muerta shale development through hydraulic fracture stimulation has unveiled challenges related not only to well completions but also to well frac hits interference with nearby producing wells.

The primary objective of this work is to develop a workflow and forecasting tool to anticipate child/parent interferences and its maximum expected well head pressure. The methodology is developed by a multidisciplinary team, including Reservoir & Production Engineering, Geology, Geophysics and Data Management specialists, it proposes an operational guideline to minimize impact when fracturing child wells/pads.
